Mission

The West Virginia Adult Education Association, Inc. (WVAEA, Inc.) supports the development of life-long learning in West Virginia by unifying interested individuals and groups; encouraging participation in local, state, and national conferences; and taking an advocacy role in adult education legislation. Membership is open to all institutions, businesses, organizations, students, and individuals interested in the field of adult education and literacy.

Activities

Annual Awards
Awards are presented annually to the Student of the Year, Adult Educator of the Year, Adult Administrator of the Year, Collaborative Partner of the Year, New Adult Educator of the Year, Adult Program of the Year, Outstanding Service Personnel of the Year, and the Volunteer Literacy Provider of the Year. Award nominations are accepted each year from April 1 - September 30.

Professional Development
WVAEA, Inc. sponsors the annual West Virginia Adult Education Association, Inc. fall conference to provide professional development opportunities for adult educators and their partners.
