Mission
The West Virginia Adult Education Association, Inc. (WVAEA, Inc.) supports
the development of life-long learning in West Virginia by unifying interested
individuals and groups; encouraging participation in local, state, and
national conferences; and taking an advocacy role in adult education legislation.
Membership is open to all institutions, businesses, organizations, students,
and individuals interested in the field of adult education and literacy.

WVAEA, Inc. Activities
Annual Awards
Awards are presented annually to the Student of the Year, Instructor of
the Year, Program of the Year, Administrator of the Year, Service Personnel
of the Year, Volunteer Tutor of the Year, and Collaborative Partner of
the Year.
Professional Development
WVAEA, Inc. sponsors the annual fall professional development conference.
Student Speakers Bureau - BOLT
The student affiliate, BOLT (Building Opportunities for Learning Together),
has formed a cadre of current and former students who represent adult
education and literacy at the local, state, and national level.
Promotion of Adult Education Literacy
WVAEA, Inc. in collaboration with the WV Department of Education, provides
partial funding for the annual statewide billboard campaign.
